Another Excellent K53 Test!
From a first fail to an excellent K53 drivers test – It CAN be done, and here’s how it happened for my test applicant.
This young lady is quite the perfectionist. At first, she was very concerned about hill starts and actually became so consumed by the thought of ‘making it’ past this part of the K53 drivers test that she seemed to dread it more than any other part of the test.
I cautioned her many times about the danger of getting wrapped up in any single element of the K53 drivers test, but then again, I can only do just that much about what a person is allowing to go through their minds. Yip, you guessed it. Her thinking got her into trouble; it got her exactly what she focussed on so much…rolling back…and failing.
People, you need to understand that there is truth in the words ‘What you resist persists’. It’s The Universe’s way of getting you what you want. You do want what you’re thinking about so persistently, right? Think back to anything good that you really, really wanted very badly – that new pair of shoes, the new pair of jeans, the new pair of sunglasses, the new…whatever it was. You got it in the end, right? You scrimped and saved and made it your mission, right?
Now here’s the thing. It works just the same for bad things too, only with bad things, it really is like a Shit Magnet. No, seriously, you draw towards you more than you bargained for, without exception, without fail. Kinda like trying to ride a tsunami on an ice cream stick – an epic fail.
Being apprehensive about your driving test is totally understandable, given the horror stories by friends and family and then watering the seed yourself by every thought you allow to contaminate your success before you have even taken your test.
Now this young lady went down the ‘normal course’ and subscribed to all the above on her first test and didn’t make it. She learned from that.
On her next test, she realised that she’s the only one that can make it happen, She realised that applying yourself is about You, In The Moment, AT the very moment, while processing baby steps, one little step at a time….until all the steps are complete.
I don’t think many people realise how calming it is to really just focus on one teeny-weenie step at a time, in the moment. It gets you where you’re headed, the coolest part is that you don’t even feel time pass…and before you know it – your test is over.
You made me SO proud since we both now how much work it took to get your mindset focussed on the success….on realising that passing your test is what you really, really wanted.
You join the ranks of Calvin’s exceptional pass.
Congrats, Girl!
