Fraud Kills!
If the Road Traffic Inspectorate can say things like: “…you’d be able to trace road deaths back to the examiner” it really makes me sit up and listen because, if a list could be drawn, it would be a Death By Examiner List. **Those examiners acting within the guidelines will not be offended by this statement.**
The licencing fraud and corruption is at an all time high so it’s not surprising that statements like these are out there. It’s just very sad that officials are basically condoning fraud by their silence and lack of action on these matters.
A few years ago the department of transport made a statement that 50 percent of driving licences in South Africa are probably fraudulent or procured in an irregular manner.
This is a classic:
“On 21 January 2003, Noreen Desiree De Gee (40) of Rosehill, an employee of the Goble Road (Windsor Park) Road Traffic Inspectorate, confessed to receiving money to assist applicants to cheat in the learner’s licence exams. De Gee subsequently pleaded guilty to 15 counts of fraud in that she gave those sitting for the exam question books with the answers or filled them in for them herself. According to the charge sheet, she had acted in cahoots with driving school owners and instructors who charged between R250 and R450 for this. She was sentenced to three years imprisonment without the option of a fine.”
DON’T keep the fraud cycle in motion, don’t perpetuate – stay above board, for everyone’s sake!
I have no idea how current this number is but if you know of driving instructors who solicit bribes you should call the
Impimpa hotline 086 221 1010
These operators could be investigated and blacklisted.

Where will it all end?!
Jeez, Jane – that’s what I was wondering.
It’s very difficult for me to try and explain the actions and attitudes of the authorities to clients and since I’m hell-bent on making a difference out there in the industry I can just hope that matters improve real fast.
In some respects things have lightened up a little but there’s still a looooooong way to go.
Hold thumbs with me, OK?
Your site was extremely interesting, especially since I was searching for thoughts on this subject last Thursday.
@Tnelson,
Thanks – come back often. Since your comment was technically spam I had to point your URL at Sheriff of Plexville’s profile since yours doesn’t exist?
That I find just as interesting.
