Another Excellent K53 Test!

Aug 9, 2011   //   by   //   Things People Do   //   452 views   //   Comments Off

From a first fail to an excellent K53 drivers test – It CAN be done, and here’s how it happened for my test applicant. This young lady is quite the perfectionist. At first, she was very concerned about hill starts and actually became so consumed by the thought of ‘making it’ past this part of the K53 drivers test that she seemed to dread it more than any other part of the test. I cautioned her many times about the danger of getting wrapped up in any single element of the K53 drivers test, but then again, I can only [...]

License Test Bribing Bastards!

Jun 16, 2011   //   by   //   Fraud   //   670 views   //   Comments Off

Our driver licensing system is failing us! Yes, I blame the licensing system which aids and abets and harbours its select guilty examiners and its nepotized “contacts” as its bastard illegitimate children in one corrupt family supposedly in charge of waging a war against road deaths. Not only has it lost all control, but it spawns, it breeds by the day, it perpetuates bad faith, and it clearly fosters narcissism, selfishness and greed as a replacement for job satisfaction. Referring to these nefarious bastards as such, I believe they fit the definition of vicious, despicable, thoroughly disliked persons and illegitimate [...]

Please bear with me!

I have been goining through absolute hell! Please bear with me! I’ve been working around the clock for weeks now just to get my website off its knees where it is currently being held at ransom by the Russians, among others. You won’t be-LIEVE the amount of spam hit my server, and the Viagra enough to wake a nation…and I’m a GURL!!! This is just a short note to say that I still offer the same superior standard of training on driving lessons and if you’d rather SMS or phone me it’s your best bet in the interim. My contact [...]

Driving Schools in Randburg

May 28, 2011   //   by   //   Advice   //   737 views   //   Comments Off

Ok, so you started with a basic search for driving schools in Randburg but that could have been driving schools in Sunninghill, driving schools in Bryanston, driving schools in Fourways, driving schools in Sandton, or wherever you live would have formed part of the query on Google or some search engine. Let’s face it, seeing the list of Google results is hardly exciting, as far as getting a sense of whom you’ll be training with. But that’s only the beginning. You then contact whichever driving school that catches your fancy via email or phone and your search is a little [...]

Killed on Driving Lesson Speculation

May 25, 2011   //   by   //   Accidents   //   272 views   //   Comments Off

When I Googled “killed on driving lesson” I got about 195,000,000 results in 0.08 seconds. Driving lessons are not necessarily dangerous at all and most won’t get you killed, BUT it greatly depends on who is doing the teaching on your lesson. The fact is that people take driving lessons because they either, can’t drive at all yet, or they are trying to improve their driving skills. So, it then follows that the person in the passenger seat should be a seasoned driver with ample experience and one who can teach the learner driver the skills required to drive. I [...]

40km/h K53 Driving Test Myth

May 10, 2011   //   by   //   K53 Questions   //   754 views   //   1 Comment

So, your friends told you to just stick to 40km/h on your driving test, did they? This would have been contrary to proper K53 form, regrettably. Yip, it’s a myth. The thesaurus defines myth as : legend, fairy tale, saga, fiction, illusion, untruth, fabrication and falsehood, among others. In short, your friends don’t realise that their advice could actually be costing you dearly on your driving test. In fact, part of your test is Speed Control, and that also includes going tooooooooo slowly. Thing is, MANY driving test applicants have either not had technical pointers from their driving instructor to [...]

DON’T bolt home on your Driving Test!

May 7, 2011   //   by   //   Advice   //   324 views   //   Comments Off

Yes, I know you will be nervous on your driving test. The fact of the matter though is that your test IS NOT over till it’s over. What do I mean by that? When I saw three examples of people bolting for home on their driving test in as many days I just had to sharpen you up on what it is to wait it out until the end of your test. Yes, you begin reasonably nervous and when the real driving test starts after your Pre-Trip Inspection you get a sense of calming down a little…at least the long [...]

The Learner License Package

May 3, 2011   //   by   //   K53 Questions   //   332 views   //   1 Comment

In the last week I’ve had a number of people that contacted me regarding a Learner License Package and not only do they want a quotation but they want to compare value for this “comprehensive” learner license service they seem to be after. The value-part I quite understand. A few things to consider… I do not offer a Learner License Package. I do the driving lesson part of getting your license. Apparently there are guys out there that offer a Learner License Package at R800 that includes “all the material you will need to pass your test”, they make the [...]

Driving Test Nerves by Agony Uncle

May 1, 2011   //   by   //   Agony Uncle   //   363 views   //   7 Comments

Dear Agony Uncle I’ve had many driving lessons (40) in the run-up to my driving test which is very soon and I can’t help but feel nervous…very nervous. My friends have told me the most horrific things that happen on driving tests and when I went to book my driver test I heard an examiner shout at a learner driver, repeatedly. I’m sure that unsettles the best prepared learner driver no matter how strong their nerves are. When I just think about an examiner shouting like that I start making mistakes even during driving lessons. What should I do? I [...]

Give Them What They Want?

Mar 13, 2011   //   by   //   General   //   346 views   //   Comments Off

I had a very enlightening discussion with the owner of a big driving school the other day. He is of the opinion that if he doesn’t give his clients what they want they will go elsewhere and before he’ll consider letting them go, he’ll rather oblige. What am I talking about? We were talking about how his clients expect to pass a driving test after having had only a few lessons. We talked about the issue quite openly and although we held opposing beliefs neither of us got defensive in getting our message across to the other. He related how [...]
